Description
The GYTY53 optical cable consists of single-mode or multi-mode fibers housed in loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic, filled with water-blocking gel. The central strength member is a metallic wire; for specific fiber counts, a polyethylene (PE) layer is extruded over the strength member. Between 5 and 12 loose tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core, with the interstices filled with water-blocking compound. A PE inner sheath is extruded over the cable core, followed by a longitudinally applied double-sided polyethylene-coated steel tape (PSP), and finally completed with a PE outer sheath. Fiber color coding can be either standard or full-spectrum.
