Description
The GYTC8S optical cable consists of single-mode or multi-mode fibers housed in loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic, filled with water-blocking gel. The central strength member is a metallic rod; for specific fiber counts, the metallic strength member is extruded with a polyethylene (PE) cushion layer. Multiple loose tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core, with the interstices filled with water-blocking compound. The core is longitudinally wrapped with a steel–polyethylene laminated tape (PSP) for additional protection. The optical cable core is then extruded together with a parallel steel messenger wire in a figure-8 sheath, providing integrated self-supporting capability. Fiber color coding can be either standard or full-spectrum.
